Indian Air Force chief flies last sortie with F-16 slayer

This was the last sortie flown by the Chief of Air Staff in a fighter aircraft before his retirement at the end of this month.

Wing Commander Abhinandan was feted with India’s third highest wartime gallantry medal for shooting down a Pakistan Air Force’s F-16 in February this year after the Balakot air strike by the IAF in retaliation to the terror strike in Jammu and Kashmir on a CRPF convoy.
