BEL wins $755-mn deal to supply Akash missiles to IAF

New Delhi: India’s state-owned Bharat Electronics Limited today signed a 53.57 billion rupees (Rs 5,357 crore/$755 million) contract to supply seven squadrons of the indigenous Akash air defence missile systems to the Indian Air Force.

In a stock exchange filing, the company said this was a turnkey contract with specialist infrastructure and the delivery will be completed in three years. The Akash missile systems will be commissioned at seven air force locations across India.
