India’s Rajnath Singh in Thailand to build ASEAN defence ties

New Delhi: India’s Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh today arrived in Bangkok to join his counterparts from the South East Asian nations for a crucial meeting ahead of a military exhibition.

Rajnath Singh will be in Thailand’s capital on Nov. 17 and 18, when he will attend the sixth Association of South East Asian Nation‘s Defence Ministers Meeting Plus (ADMM Plus) event and the opening ceremony of the Defence and Security 2019 exhibition in Bangkok.

He will also hold several bilateral meetings with the10-nation grouping’s and its eight plus nations’ defence ministers attending the ASEAN meet. He will also inaugurate the India pavilion at the military exhibition in Bangkok, apart from addressing a business seminar at the exhibition, along with having an interaction with industry representatives.

As part of the agenda for the ADMM Plus meeting, the Indian defence minister will also release the ‘Handbook on Military Medicine’ for ASEAN along with the Defence Minister of Myanmar.
