India Army seeks domestic vendors for ammunition manufacture over 10 years

New Delhi: India‘s army is scouting for Indian vendors to meet its needs for nine different types of ammunition, all of them over a 10-year period. The requirement include ammunition for bullets to artillery weapons.

The Master General of Ordnance of the Indian Army has issued the Requests for Information to facilitate preparation of Requests for Proposal and identify prospective manufacturers for participating in the proposal for indigenous production. The information requests were issued on Aug. 3 and Aug. 4.

The Government of India will neither provide any special concessions nor any funding or investment to facilitate setting up of requisite infrastructure by participating firms.

The prospective manufacturers will be free to select their technology partners, negotiate and obtain Transfer of Technology.

The technology partners could be indigenous Ordnance Factory Board or Defence Research and Development Organisation or any foreign vendor.

The Indian Army and Ministry of Defence will have no liability in technology transfer agreements between the participating vendor and their technology partners.

Here are those Requests for Information:

  1. Round 20mm SAPHEI for Anti Material Rifle

The annual requirement of Round 20mm SAPHEI for Anti-Material Rifle projected by the MGO Branch is 6,415.

  1. Cartridge SA 9mm Subsonic Calibre 158 GR for 9mm SMG MP-9

The annual requirement of Cartridge SA 9mm Subsonic Calibre 158 GR for 9mm SMG MP-9 projected by the MGO Branch is 1,54,233.

  1. Shell 155mm HE 77B, Shell 155mm Cargo, Shell 155mm Smk, Shell 155mm Ill, and Shell 155mm HE 107

The requirement of these various types of 155mm ammunition is projected by the MGO Branch.

  1. 40mm LV HE AR -406 Ammunition

The annual requirement of 40mm LV HE AR -406 Ammunition projected by the MGO Branch is 14,850.

  1. Rocket 122mm HE Shell Fragmentation for BM-21 (NON ER) and Fuze MRU/MRV 9E 244 for BM-21

The annual requirement of Rocket 122mm HE Shell Fragmentation for BM-21 (NON ER) projected by the MGO Branch is 1,967 and for Fuze MRU/MRV 9E 244 for BM-21 is 2,102.

  1. Cartridges ZP 1, Cartridges ZP 2, and Cartridges NZP

The annual requirement of Cartridges ZP 1 projected by the MGO Branch is 154 and for Cartridges NZP is 52.

  1. Disposal Rocket Launcher C-90 CR-RB (M-3), Round for C-90 CR BK M 3.1 Anti-Bunker System, and Ammunition for TR-90 Trg System, all three from Spain

The annual requirement of Disposal Rocket Launcher C-90 CR-RB (M-3) and Round for C-90 CR BK M 3.1 Anti Bunker System projected by the MGO Branch is 45 each. The annual requirement of Ammunition for TR-90 Trg System is 486.

  1. 300mm SMERCH 9M55K Cluster War Head, 300mm Smerch 9M55S Fuel Air Explosive War Head, and 300mm Smerch 9M55F HE Fragmentation Separate War Head

The annual requirement of 300mm SMERCH 9M55K Cluster War Head projected by the MGO Branch is 12. The annual requirement for 300mm SMERCH 9M55S Fuel Air Explosive War Head is 6 (six). The annual requirement for 300mm SMERCH 9M55F HE Fragmentation Separate War Head is 12.

  1. Cartridges SA 7.62mm Rifle Ball with Steel Core Bullet Rimmed, Cartridges SA 7.62mm Rifle Tracer with Bullet T-46 Rimmed, Cartridges SA 7.62 mm Rifle API with B-32 Bullet Rimmed, Cartridges SA 7.62mm Sniper Rimmed for Dragunov Sniper Rifle, and Cartridges SA 7.62mm Match for Galil Sniper Rifle

The annual requirement of Cartridges SA 7.62mm Rifle Ball with Steel Core Bullet Rimmed is 22,14,774; Cartridges SA 7.62mm Rifle Tracer with Bullet T-46 Rimmed is 15,03,935; Cartridges SA 7.62 mm Rifle API with B-32 Bullet Rimmed is 15,66,832; Cartridges SA 7.62mm Sniper Rimmed for Dragunov Sniper Rifle is 16,23,750; and Cartridges SA 7.62mm Match for Galil Sniper Rifle is 73,800.
