India navy to set up technology incubation forum with BEL

New Delhi: India‘s navy and state-run Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) will jointly set up a Technology Incubation Forum, to promote innovation and creativity in developing futuristic technologies.

Indian Navy and BEL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here today at the naval headquarters here, according to an official statement.

“The Technology Incubation Forum reflects the joint vision of Indian Navy and Bharat Electronics Limited towards innovative and creative thinking and fostering development of emerging technologies,” the statement said.

The broad charter of the TIF includes technology development in the domain of weapons and sensors, information technology and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Quantum Computing, Autonomous Platforms/Robotics, Image Processing and Cognitive Radio.

“The TIF will spearhead mission mode development of deployable products under the government’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat‘ initiative with involvement of the industry, academia and Start-Ups.”
